WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

<li>Assist with community outreach and marketing events which includes passing out flyers and educating the community</li>
<li>Light housekeeping generally consisting of daily collection of trash from the trash bins in the store and disposing of it in a designated area, sweeping or vacuuming (where carpet is present) the showroom daily, mopping with Swiffer floor mop 1-2 times per week or as needed, and cleaning windows as needed.</li>

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Information Security Architecture & Engineering to serve as a key security leader within our organization. This role is responsible for defining and driving security architecture, secure-by-design principles, data protection and handling, and vulnerability management strategy across the enterprise. Acting primarily as a second-line of defense, this leader ensures security best practices are embedded into our CI/CD, SDLC, data pipelines, and core infrastructure. Beyond technical expertise, this role demands strong leadership to both, manage a team of security experts, as well as drive across teams and functions. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance, prioritizing kindness, integrity, and transparency in leadership. This individual will view security as a business enabler, creating services that empower developers and system owners to iterate rapidly while maintaining strong security controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES
 · Define and maintain secure application and infrastructure architecture frameworks, ensuring security is built-in from the outset
· Partner with engineering, DevOps, and technology teams to integrate security into SDLC, CI/CD, and data pipelines
· Own and oversee the vulnerability management program, ensuring risk-based remediation across all technology assets
· Develop and scale a security design review service, providing structured security assessments for new and evolving systems
· Advocate for security as a service, building tools and processes that streamline secure development and system operations
· Act as a security advisor to engineering, DevOps, and technology operations, ensuring security aligns with business goals
· Collaborate with the Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team to align technical security requirements with regulatory frameworks
· Champion a security-first culture, ensuring teams understand security risks, standards and best practices
REQUIREMENTS
· 10+ years of experience in security architecture, application security, infrastructure security, or related domains
· Strong technical background in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), DevSec Ops, and data security
· Experience leading and developing globally distributed security teams with a focus on professional growth and collaboration
· Proven ability to build and scale security design review services to support secure software development
· Experience designing security controls for data flow pipelines and distributed computing environments
· Hands-on knowledge of secure software development practices, security testing methodologies, and threat modeling
· Strong cross-functional leadership with the ability to communicate security risks effectively to engineering, IT, and business stakeholders
· Deep understanding of security frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST CSF, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, CIS Controls)
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications
· Expertise in application security testing, threat modeling, bug bounty programs, and software security assessments
· Expertise in identity & access management (IAM), encryption, authentication, logging, and monitoring architectures
· Experience with AWS, GitHub, and leading security solutions
· Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, OSCP, AWS Security Specialty, or similar) preferred

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $ 160,200 - $ 256,300.

We are growing our world-class team of mission-driven, entrepreneurial Data Scientists who are passionate about broadening financial inclusion by untapping insights from non-traditional data. Be part of the team responsible for developing and enhancing Oportun’s core intellectual property used in scoring risk for underbanked consumers that lack a traditional credit bureau score. In this role you will be on the cutting edge working with large and diverse (i.e. data from dozens of sources including transactional, mobile, utility, and other financial services) alternative data sets and utilize machine learning and statistical modeling to build scores and strategies for managing risk, collection/loss mitigation, take-up rates and fraud. You will also drive growth and optimize marketing spend across channels by leveraging alternative data to help predict which consumers would likely be interested in Oportun’s affordable, credit building loan product.   
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Develop data products and machine learning models used in Risk, Fraud, Collections, and portfolio management, and provide frictionless customer experience for various products and services Oportun provides.</li>
<li>Build accurate and automated monitoring tools which can help us to keep a close eye on the performance of the models and rules.</li>
<li>Build model deployment platform which can shorten the time of implementing new models.</li>
<li>Build end-to-end reusable pipelines from data acquisition to model output delivery.</li>
<li>Lead initiatives to drive business value from start to finish including project planning, communication, and stakeholder management.</li>
<li>Lead discussions with Compliance, Bank Partners, and Model Risk Management teams to facilitate the Model Governance Activities such as Model Validations and Monitoring.</li>
<li>Lead, coach and partner with the DS and non-DS team to deliver results</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul>
<li>A relentless problem solver and out of the box thinker with a proven track record of driving business results in a timely manner</li>
<li>Master’s degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Economics or other quantitative discipline (Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience will be considered).</li>
<li>Hands on experience leveraging machine learning techniques such as Gradient Boosting, and other algorithms to solve real world problems</li>
<li>5+ years of hands-on experience with data extraction, cleaning, analysis and building reusable data pipelines; Proficient in SQL, Spark SQL and/or Hive</li>
<li>3+ years of experience in leveraging modern machine learning toolset and programming languages with Python, Pyspark</li>
<li>Experience working with Databricks, AWS EMR, Sage-maker or other cloud-based platforms is a plus</li>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills; Strong stakeholder management and project management skills; Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced, agile environment</li>
