Toast is a POS (point of sale) system used by those in the food industry, from fine dining establishments and cafes to convenience and grocery stores. While its flagship product is the POS software, the company also has products for mobile ordering, payments processing, payroll, inventory, websites, marketing tools, and hardware for use in restaurants (handheld POS, self-order kiosks, etc.). The products also integrate with more than 200+ applications for a seamless experience. Toast was founded in 2012 and went public in 2021—these days, its products are used in more than 120,000 restaurants in the U.S. The company’s CEO is also one of its three founders, Aman Narang, and its headquarters is in Boston, Massachusetts.
