Intern Reviews
- “The internship has been great. They emphasize that it is a ‘residency,’ not an ‘internship.’ This is because they emphasize the importance of quality mentorship and work that feels meaningful. I feel like the work I am doing truly matters and is teaching me so much more than I could have expected. I don't feel like the stereotypical intern who is just around to do the tasks nobody else wants to do. The culture is very relaxed with some really cool people. My main negative point is that this is a remote-first culture. I have been in the office every day by choice, but most people do not come into the office. I think it would be a better experience if there were more people in the office to socialize and network with.”
- “The work culture at Method is very nice and friendly. I had a chance to interact with many employees other than my mentor and program director and have gained knowledge from all of them. The first week onsite was a great experience of learning and bonding, and I would definitely not have to work extra hours. Eight hours a day is sufficient, and that much is expected.”
- “The residency is a full-time program with a 40-hour week. The working hours, while quite flexible, revolve around our meeting schedules. It’s nice to have the flexibility in schedules as well as respect and understanding around time zones and workload.”
- “I have a great quality of life. I have a responsive team that is flexible with my work-life balance. I always feel invited and secure in the space as well as generally cheerful.”
Getting Hired Here
- “I had two interviews, which considered culture fit as well as a technical fit. It felt as though we were having a conversation rather than an interview, and I appreciated that.”
- “The interview process was very thorough! I was told that they selected the top 5% of the applied candidates. I felt like I had a very satisfying interview experience, the portfolio review, and the recruiter call!”
- “The interview process was straightforward and simple as well as clear on what the expectations are of joining the program in terms of effort and level.”
- “The difficulty of the interviews was slightly easier compared to the interview process for other design jobs, although that might be because this is an internship and not a full-time job. My interactions with the interviewers were great. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming. The program seemed pretty selective; there were over 100 applicants for my specific role, and four were selected.”
